Colour in your living space...

Surrounding yourself with originality and colour can be uplifting, and interior space can be enhanced through vibrant design and works of art, rather than just through the conventional route of paint and soft furnishings.

If you feel your home could benefit from an injection of colour without the cost of a radical makeover, you can change the mood quite simply by adding a beautiful piece of work. This has the advantage of being able to go with you if you move house, or in the case of the more valuable items, being handed down through the generations as investment pieces.

Colour advice by design

If you would like a detailed consultation to include an interior design element, we would be delighted to come to your home and discuss what you are hoping to achieve, and which designs might suit your living style.

When Nikki sees a room, she will immediately associate it with an architectural style, the look and feel of a period in history, and will interpret your brief by taking inspiration from art movements and the colour palettes of renowned artists. As a qualified garden designer, she also enjoys placing sculptural art in a natural setting.

"where did I learn to understand sculpture? in the woods by looking at the trees, along roads by observing the formation of clouds" - Auguste Rodin

We are all aware that the environment and different colours will affect our mood. Colour changes with the light, and with colours it sits alongside. Some colours recede and others advance. Nikki believes original designs need to be enhanced by how and where they are placed, according to scale, the space around them, texture – and above all, the judicious use of colour.

"It is not enough to place colours, however beautiful, one beside the other; colours must also react on one another. Otherwise, you have cacophony." - Henri Matisse

To arrange a consultation please call artenax on 01392 874172, or Nikki on 07974 072117.
